Yes, American waiters in restaurants serving foreign tourists, tour guides at the Grand Canyon, concierges in hotels, economists teaching foreign students, Broadway playwrights, actors and musicians.... All can be 'exporters.'

Unless I missed it, Brad Setser's series of tweets (hard to read) left out that the Bank of Japan owns half of the JGB's outstanding.

The taxpayers owe money to themselves, not offshore.

In a better world, I would have been born Japanese and played professional baseball in Japan.

They know how to do it.
